Company Profile

In 2008, Sima Products Corporation spun off Metis Secure Solutions as a new business dedicated to designing, manufacturing and distributing a unique emergency warning platform that can be used in a wide range of settings such as colleges and universities.  The key engineers and management team that worked on the development of this innovative platform moved from Sima Products to Metis Secure, building on a foundation of technical expertise and industry relationships that go back over 35 years.

While at Sima Products this same engineering team worked for years on NOAA weather warning devices, under the First Alert brand, and helped create the CEA 2009 standard for Public Alert radios. In addition, they built custom systems for notification around nuclear power plants. As a result, our engineers have long known that existing emergency notification systems (ENS) have serious limitations in terms of speed and accuracy in delivering specific information to specific locations.

Metis Secure has also benefited from close working relationship with a number of universities, particularly Carnegie Mellon University.  Using research and analysis from the Environmental Health and Safety officials, student and faculty, Metis Secure has tailored the initial product launch to meet the needs of the university market by addressing critical shortcomings found in other ENS systems.
