Markets

The Metis Secure system is designed as a communications platform that can serve the emergency notification needs of a wide range of customers in many vertical markets. The optimal application for the system is to provide emergency communications to an organization or business that operates multiple buildings within a geographic proximity such as on a university or corporate campus. The Metis Secure system is also highly effective in large, single facilities such as shopping malls or high rise office buildings.

Colleges and Universities
Campus tragedies, like the shootings at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois, have exposed the difficulty that university administrators face in effectively communicating with a campus population during emergencies. The concern is so great that in 2008, the Higher Education Opportunity Act mandates that universities install "state-of-the-art" emergency warning systems to notify student populations of emergencies "immediately".
Business
On any given day, business districts are the most densely populated areas in any town or city. This market segment includes business facilities like 48,965 shopping malls, over 70,000 high rise office buildings and corporate parks where thousands of employees and customers may occupy multiple buildings within a densely populated area.
Chemical plants
The 11,825 chemical facilities in the U.S. are not required by law to provide notification to the public about chemical spills. However, in the fall of 2007, the Department of Homeland Security approved amendments to the final rule of Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards, increasing scrutiny on high-risk facilities to improve emergency response including public notification. Deploying a Metis Secure system in homes within a 1 mile radius around a chemical plant or in an area with multiple chemical plants is a highly desirable way to minimize legal exposure and generate positive public relations.
Senior care assisted living
The application of the Metis Secure system in the senior care market addresses not only emergency warning, but also a wider spectrum of Quality of Life services for the 44,000 retirement communities, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and independent living communities in the U.S. The system will provide two way communications to validate that residents are awake and okay, to identify individuals who need help, to encourage residents to participate in activities and to reinforce medicine schedules.
Public Sector
Every community has a responsibility to warn its residents about danger and manage information during emergencies. Coordinating first response efforts with public warning is a mission critical goal. A Metis Secure system can give emergency management agencies the ability to coordinate and manage public notification on a local or regional level. Installations in public buildings and other critical infrastructure will provide strategic points of communication.
