PITTSBURGH—People who are responsible for protecting their organizations in an emergency know it’s not a 9-5 desk job. Metis Secure has launched a new mobile interface that enables safety and security professionals to instantly broadcast actionable alerts and instructions to their sites around the clock from any location, using a mobile phone or tablet.
In an emergency, safety and security personnel can now alert everyone at their sites from anywhere, via a smartphone or tablet
With the new mobile Command Center interface, designated personnel can launch instant, pre-recorded alerts to the IP phones, computer screens, digital signs, PA speakers, and other facility devices, including Metis Secure Help Stations. In addition, they can quickly build and send custom alerts and directives using text-to-speech.
This helps ensure that people throughout a facility or campus can respond much more quickly and effectively in an emergency, because they have information about what is happening and what they need to do.
POWERFUL, FLEXIBLE EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION AND COMMUNICATIONS
Metis Secure’s mobile interface is the latest in a series of innovations designed to provide maximum flexibility and mobility for safety and security personnel:
- Emergency help calls made from Metis Secure Help Stations can go directly to patrolling security officers’ handheld radios and mobile phones, with the call location transmitted automatically.
- Designated personnel can operate the Metis Secure system from off-site via any internet browser. If your organization uses a third-party security monitoring company to secure your site, the off-site dispatchers can operate the Metis Secure system from central station computers.
- The server that powers the Metis Secure system can reside off-site with a third-party hosting service. This is important for organizations whose IT departments may not want to maintain the emergency communications system server on-premises.
“Unlike rigid emergency communications systems that tie system users to specific locations, the Metis Secure system provides the ultimate flexibility to launch emergency alerts and respond to help calls from almost anywhere,” said Mark Kurtzrock, president and CEO, Metis Secure. “This means you can send and receive critical information much more rapidly—and as a result, significantly improve your ability to protect your people and site.”
